Brandyn Burnette (click to listen)
This August, during one of his many studio sessions at Pilot creative in Brooklyn, Dave called to let me know he was working with a young artist named Brandyn Burnette that he thought had a ton of potential. He invited me to sit in on the session, and I was very impressed with what I saw. Brandyn, who hadn’t even turned 20 (his birthday is August 23rd), looked right at home in the studio, and had a very smooth voice with great range, especially in the higher register. I later found out that in addition to his killer pipes, Brandyn had signed his first publishing deal with Sony/ATV at the age of 18. As mind-blowing as this was to me, I became even more impressed with him when I found out he had to walk away from his full acting scholarship at NYU to pursue his career in music. Apparently it was the right decision though, in addition to his publishing deal, Brandyn has recently been signed to Warner Brothers Records. Check out these tracks for a sneak peek at his debut album due this spring.
